The Company

The twenty hectares of Filippo Panichi’s vineyards descend from the hills around Castel di Lama, towards the valley of the River Tronto, which forms the natural border between Le Marche and the Abruzzi region, to the south.

The climate here is characterised by a refreshing mixture of salty breezes from the nearby Adriatic Sea and the light winds wafting down from the Sibillini Mountains.

Castel di Lama,  near the fascinating, historical town of Ascoli Piceno, not far from the Adriatic coast and near the Sibylline Mountains.

Though the Panichi Company has been producing wines since 1896, the cellars are now equipped with the latest temperature controlled wine making machinery to respect the genuineness of the product  organically cultivated.

With climate, terrain and a soil, ideally suited for grape production, the emphasis of the vineyard is now on quality and not quantity, driven by a passionate commitment to create the best wines of the region.

Together with the traditional  Rosso Piceno Superiore DOC and the Falerio dei Colli Ascolani DOC the company is also fast gaining a reputation as a skilled interpreter of other top quality D.O.C. regional wines. Notably Offida Passerina DOC, Offida Pecorino DOC for whites;  IGT Montepulciano purely bottled after an ageing process in oak barrels, for reds.
